Luxury Watches

By: Lee Evans

Buying a luxury Swiss watch usually causes one to pause. "Hmm . . . what are the things that I need to consider so that I make the right purchase?" You don't want to make the wrong choice. In fact, buying luxury watches is not that hard to do.

The most prominent brands, subject to argument of course, are:

• Tag Heuer
• Omega
• Rolex, and
• Breitling

Luxury watches can run anywhere from $1000-$250,000, so they are an investment and you want to make sure that you select the one that is right for you. Luxury watch owners are usually enthusiasts. They love a certain brand and they often stick to it. An obsession, I'd say. But some prefer to simply call it passion. Sometimes these "passionate connoisseurs" collect watches and have vast quantities from the same watch company. Most luxury watch bloggers on the net are actually collectors.

My best recommendation to a newbie to the luxury watch arena is to do your research, talk with friends, read the watch forums, but, in the end, pick the watch that gives you the most joy. When you are spending this much for a watch, you really want to glance at it and smile (when no one is looking). You want to feel the warm fuzzies (a technical term) when you put it on. You want to say "Hey, look at my wrist, will you" to everyone that passes by, but you're an adult, so you won't do that (but that's the only reason why)!

There are only a few things in your life that will give you as much of a kick, so make sure that you have fun. When you pick from all the luxury watches, make sure that you splurge. Make sure that you get one of the best gifts you can ever give to YOU. Remember, unlike most other items, you will probably be wearing this everyday, for many years to come. Above all, make sure that your watch brings you joy!
