Rolex Datejust Ladies

By: Scott Jhon Parham

The bezel is an important cosmetic feature of any Rolex watch. Apart from making the case more pressure-proof while measuring the elapsed time and average speed in certain sport models, it also renders a touch of class to the watch.

The bezel is an important cosmetic feature of any Rolex watch. Apart from making the case more pressure-proof while measuring the elapsed time and average speed in certain sport models, it also renders a touch of class to the watch. Rolex offers different styles in bezels for most of its models. There are two broad categories of Bezels: Simple Bezels and Jeweled Bezels
Simple Bezels

This category includes all styles that are not fitted with precious or semi-precious stones. Some of the most popular styles that you can find in this category include the following -

1. Polished Bezel

2. Fluted Bezel

3. Domed Bezel

4. Engine Turned Bezel

5. Finely Engine Turned Bezel

5. Bezel printed with Tachymeter (Logarithmic) Scale found in Rolex Cosmograph Daytona models

6. Bezel printed with 24 hour Markings found in Rolex GMT-Master and Explorer II

7. Elapse Time Bezel found in Rolex Submariner and Sea-Dweller models

8. Turn-O-Graph Bezel found in Turn-O-Graph Datejust models

Rolex offers a number of options in jeweled Bezels in many of the popular watch models. If you like jewelry and want to flaunt an exceptional looking wristwatch, a Bezel outfitted with precious or semi-precious stones is the perfect choice. However, such options are available for 18k gold and platinum models only. This means that if you are looking for a diamond Bezel in stainless steel models, you may not be able to find one. In the preowned market, however, stainless steel Rolex watches with a diamond Bezel are readily available. We believe we can supply you with the watch you are looking for in terms of both design and jewelry. Some of the unique diamond Bezels offered by Rolex include the following -

1. Platinum embedded with 40 full-cut diamonds in some ladies' Oyster Perpetual Datejust models

2. 18k yellow gold or white gold fitted with 40 full-cut diamonds in some Ladies' Datejust models

3. Platinum/18k white gold fitted with 44 full-cut diamonds in some men's Oyster Perpetual Date just models

4. 18k yellow gold set with 44 full-cut diamonds in some men's Oysterquartz Day-Date models

5. 18k yellow gold set with 44 diamonds and 4 baguette rubies in some 36mm Oyster Perpetual Day-Date models

6. Platinum set with 40 full-cut diamonds in some 39mm Oyster Perpetual Day-Date models

8. 18k yellow gold/white gold set with 32 full-cut diamonds in some ladies' Datejust models

9. 18k yellow gold set with diamonds and sapphires in men's GMT-Master II

Rolex Datejust Price

By: Bob Luxor

To tell you the truth, I was never a big fan of Rolex watches. My grandfather, father and most of my elderly uncles had one, giving the impression that it is an old man's brand. I do love little luxuries and when it comes to watches, there is not other brands that embed the notion of luxury better than Rolex. It was not until I discovered Rolex's Oyster Perpetual Datejust series that I began to get hooked on Rolex watches.

Personally, I am not really a big fan of big complicated watches with bezels and other bells and whistles. I prefer classically designed, no frills watches that oozes with elegance and simplicity. You can imagine my delight when I discovered the Datejust series.

Rolex's Datejust series is a collection of classically designed watches that embodies the tradition of classical watches. Most of the watches in this collection just tell the date and time, perfect for my minimalist taste. They are usually slender with smooth curves, and some can even be worn by both men and women.

Most of the watches in the Datejust collection are made of stainless steel. Some of the luxurious models are more heavily adorned with gold and even diamonds. Even the most ostentatious model in this collection is modeled to be understate and subtle. This is my favorite collection among all other Rolex watches as there is nothing classier than subtle sophistication (as opposed to over the top designs).

So a couple of months ago, I got my first Rolex watch, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Midsize watch (178240-Pro). It is an elegant midsize timepiece with sleek matte stainless steal casing and a pink colored dial face. The numbers on the face of the watch are elegant, silver colored roman numerals. Like many Rolex watches, the 178249-Pro is an automatic watch so it does not require batteries.

Rolex Datejust

Rolex finally unveiled Date-Just II at Baselworld 2009 as all Rolex watches lovers expected. Though Baselworld 2009 just recently closed, there already appears hundreds of articles about Rolex 2009 new releases. Rolex Date-Just II, in particular, draws great attention with some noticeable changes.

Rolex came with four 41mm Date-Just II models and eight 36mm Date-Just II models at Baselworld 2009. Rolex men's watch first had 41mm model on Day-Date II in 2008, this year was Date-Just II's turn. One Two-Tone 41mm Datejust II model uses green theme Roman numbers and a baton marker with luminescence at 9 o'clock. The green elements first appeared at Basel 2004. GMT Master II, Anniversary Submariner, and Milgauss 116400GV are all beneficiaries of green elements. Personally, I love green which is fresh and vivid. But I never thought it could display its charm on watches till Rolex made it true. Two of other Rolex Date-Just II models apply Arabic markers. One in two-tone and the other in white gold and stainless steel. Noticeable is that the arabic numerals on white gold version presents something purple. The last 41mm Date-Just II keeps more tradition looking with baton markers. I am a little disappointed about the combination of fluted bezels and Oyster bracelet on these four models. In eyes of mine, fluted bezels goes better with Jubillee bracelet.

Female Rolex watches lovers may cheer as they are spoiled with eight 36mm Date-Just II this year. Obviously, Now Date-Just now tries to attract more female customers. In another word, Rolex Date-Just now is being transformed from a men's watch line to a unisex watch line. As a woman, these Date-Just II of feminine slant do take my breath away. And my favorite model is the one features grey dial and flower patterns.

Rolex Princes

By: Chen Clinton

Prince is another series which Rolex launched in 1928, it is really a masterpiece that involving function, aesthetics and structure as a whole. Since its birth, Prince has been deeply loved by doctors, as they can use it to calculate pulse; this is why Prince was called "doctor's watch" later. And the professionals who need precision timekeeping to second also become the fans of Prince.

Rectangular in shape, the Prince stood apart at the time thanks to the outstanding performance of its movement. Furthermore, Rolex developed and patented the watch's unique display of hours and minutes on one side of the winding stem and of seconds on the other.

Now part of the Cellini range, the Rolex Prince is a gem amongst wristwatches. It has pioneered the novel concept of using technical know-how to enhance design in an effort to ensure total balance between the aesthetics of the watch, the movement, the case, the dial and the strap. Everything about it is new.
The movement - a Swiss chronometer - is rectangular in shape and makes use of all the available space to ensure performance and reliability. Designed and manufactured in perfect harmony with the case and strap, the aesthetics of the movement were given equal consideration to its technical performance. For the first time, a Rolex movement is on show through a transparent caseback that reveals a guilloche decoration on the movement echoing that on the dial.

On the dial, hours and minutes are displayed separately above the seconds. The guilloche decoration on each timepiece requires technical ingenuity and has redefined the art of watch decoration. The various patterns now available - Clou de Paris, Godron and Rayon Flammé de la Gloire - give each model its own distinct look.

Sleek, smooth and sophisticated, the four distinct styles of the slim, elongated case offer something to suit every taste, and the transparent caseback adds an extra touch of elegance. Finally, the leather strap has been fitted with a gold butterfly clasp, giving the watch perfect balance.

the Prince stood apart at the time thanks to the mechanical instrument and a lesson in aesthetics. It reflects the art of watchmaking at its best as much as design in its purest sense. It paves the way for a new generation of watches that embody the technical perfection and know-how so intrinsic to Rolex.

Luxury Watches

By: Lee Evans

Buying a luxury Swiss watch usually causes one to pause. "Hmm . . . what are the things that I need to consider so that I make the right purchase?" You don't want to make the wrong choice. In fact, buying luxury watches is not that hard to do.

The most prominent brands, subject to argument of course, are:

• Tag Heuer
• Omega
• Rolex, and
• Breitling

Luxury watches can run anywhere from $1000-$250,000, so they are an investment and you want to make sure that you select the one that is right for you. Luxury watch owners are usually enthusiasts. They love a certain brand and they often stick to it. An obsession, I'd say. But some prefer to simply call it passion. Sometimes these "passionate connoisseurs" collect watches and have vast quantities from the same watch company. Most luxury watch bloggers on the net are actually collectors.

My best recommendation to a newbie to the luxury watch arena is to do your research, talk with friends, read the watch forums, but, in the end, pick the watch that gives you the most joy. When you are spending this much for a watch, you really want to glance at it and smile (when no one is looking). You want to feel the warm fuzzies (a technical term) when you put it on. You want to say "Hey, look at my wrist, will you" to everyone that passes by, but you're an adult, so you won't do that (but that's the only reason why)!

There are only a few things in your life that will give you as much of a kick, so make sure that you have fun. When you pick from all the luxury watches, make sure that you splurge. Make sure that you get one of the best gifts you can ever give to YOU. Remember, unlike most other items, you will probably be wearing this everyday, for many years to come. Above all, make sure that your watch brings you joy!

Breitling

By: Patrick C Bedford

Breitling has unveiled its most recent horologic innovation to the amazement of the watch industry. The new B01 chronograph movement is the luxury watchmaker's first completely in-house manufactured complication. The new features in this movement distinguish it from any other Swiss movement on the market and set a new bench mark for watch-making excellence.

Breitling has always shared a close and essential relationship with aviation, sports, and industry. It is no surprise that the maker of the first wrist chronograph and first fully automatic chronograph would pursue a higher standard of precision in its designer timepieces. By appropriating itself of the entire movement manufacturing process for the B01, Breitling can now oversee every detail of the chronograph's development.

The B01 project has created a revolutionary specialized assembly process that guarantees the integrity of each watch's quality. Movement along the assembly chain is conducted by an ultra sophisticated computer program that monitors and routes each movement throughout the various paths of assembly. The program alternates the movement's components in two phases. The first phase is fully automated and conducted exclusively by precise robotic arms. This ensures a better quality product as these machines have greater precision than a human hand. The second phase directs the components of the movement to a separate facility where partial manual assembly is required. Upon exiting the assembly chain, the movements are sent to the C.O.S.C. for extremely rigorous testing and analyzes.

The caliber B01 is available exclusively in its C.O.S.C certified version, with accompanying documentation to prove its clearance of highly meticulous precision testing. It is considered a high frequency movement at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The new Chronomat B01 features this new movement, and encases it beautifully in stainless steel, steel & gold, or 18k rose gold. This timepiece has been developed with endurance in mind and boasts 500 meters of water resistance. Another feature that has created excitement over this new Breitling movement is an optimized column-wheel device that provides a clean start/stop function without a jump of the hand. The movement is equipped with a 70 hour reserve which is an impressive feat considering its sleek shape. A patented self setting device for the resetting hammers does away with the traditional need to have a watchmaker correct each individual movement.

As the crowning achievement of this great watch manufacturer's 125th anniversary, the caliber B01 ushers in a new era for chronograph movements, and validates Breitling as the world leader in precision time-keeping instruments for professionals.

Movado

By: Jitesh Arora

Think of a watch and the words that come to my mind are luxury, impressive and magnificent. Movado has launched two models in the new series the first one is a black pvd finishing giving the tough look. The other one is standard Swiss quartz. The black one being a chronograph model differs from the second one. These models are usually unisexual but most preferred for men. Both models differ in the movement. Along the outer side of the dial of both the models ten minute spans are displayed for the user's convenience. Large dots that represent the 5 minute mark are present. The Movado series promises of offering style and comfort with elegant as well as casual watches for everyday use.

For women here are a few types of watches from sport to luxury watches. While buying sports watch keep in mind the features like lap timer and split timer. Casual watches can be worn on any occasion. Let it be a business meeting or wedding ceremony casual watches can fit into any of these. It should be calm and easy in term of comfort. Working, as the name suggests, are designed for classy people busy at their workplaces.

These watches should ensure punctuality and planning. The dressy watches are more popular among the women class. These include a pink bracelet matching with your belt or pants of the same color. The luxury ones ensure lifetime company and this one ought to be an expensive one. Always remember that a watch reflects the lifestyle of a person.

Rolex Air King

By: Benae Moore

The entire Air King line was revamped in 2007 and is available with a choice of three different bezels, steel domed and white gold fluted bezel similar to that found in the Datejust, and a steel engine turned bezel, which I find particularly attractive. This engine turned bezel is available only in the Air King and Date watches (the Date is an Air King with a date display) It comes with a choice of three colors of Dials (black, white and blue) with either roman numerals, Arabic numerals or a combination of Arabic numerals and stick markers. Being an entry level watch, it is offered only with all stainless steel Oyster bracelets, and cannot be with a Jubillee or Presidents bracelet, or a gold Oyster bracelet.

Today's review will focus on the replica Rolex Air King Precision watch. This model is available in blue, black and champagne dial while other details remain the same.

This replica has stainless steel case in 36 mm with polished finish. It uses Asia automatic movement with 21 jewels and a mineral crystal glass that resists scratches. The screw-in watch crown is well constructed in the case. The Replica is water resistant.

It features an engine turned bezel decorated with polished steel markers which sparkle against the Arabic numerals in the stainless steel. The dial also uses bar hour markers with lume stuff that glow in the dark. The hour hand and minute hand hovers over the dial. As only tells time, the dial's overall look is extremely clean and clear. As an undated model, the rehaust has the engraving of ROLEX and its serial No.

This replica Air king goes with Oyster Bracelet that with simplicity and functionality. Made in solid stainless steel and mixes with polished (center links) and Brushed (side links), this bracelet is both comfortable and easy to eyes.

Showing style and quality, this Replica Air King is a timepiece that one desires it at first glace. If you appeals to simple style watch, it is the one made for you.

Rolex Yacht Master

By: Rod Low

Rolex recently revealed a new sequel to their remarkable and superb diver at Basel 2008: The Rolex Sea-Dweller, naming the novel invention the Rolex Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA. The DEEPSEA has certainly more than a few modifications from the earlier Sea-Dweller:

Similar to the new Yacht-Master 2, its brand is more heavily focused upon. The original Sea-Dweller was prominent for its restriction such as the one that inserts the "ROLEX" repeatedly surrounding the chapter ring, as well as extra blurbs on top of the "ringlock", with the addition of the model name "DEEPSEA" above the center. At any rate, there are still no cyclops (date magnifier) incorporated, and fortunately, Rolex did not include polished center links like the new GMT Master 2.

Similar also to the Anniversary Submariner and new GMT Master 2, the Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA incorporates the "maxi-dial" in its system, for the intention of making the hour markers larger, and both the minute and hour hands wider to some extent.

However, the depth rating turns from being impractical to ridiculous: 1,220m (4,000ft) on the original to 3,900m (12,800ft) on the DEEPSEA.

Some other interesting points to note would be that the crystals on the watch goes from flat thick sapphire to domed thick sapphire. Following the footsteps of the GMT Master 2, durable and solid ceramic bezel with platinum-filled numbers were also used as a design. Also, Rolex also improved the ratcheting clasp, increasing it in 1.8mm increments. Furthermore, the caseback is changed from flat stainless steel to a titanium/steel alloy, and the new-fangled "Ringlock System", comprising of a stainless steel ring under the crystal has the ability to absorb pressure. The Sea-Dweller also makes use of a newly designed blue-colored lume on the dial and bezel dot, giving it a very sleek and stylish touch. It also comes in a larger case with a slightly updated style.

Akin to its predecessor, it has a helium escape valve, which will only be practical to one if one does saturation diving often. The movement is the identical 3135, but with the enhancement and addition of the newly invented antimagnetic Parachrom Blue hairspring.

Its price is not revealed yet, but buyers can expect it to be very expensive. The Sea-Dweller has always been one of Rolex's more luxurious models, and such new enhancements and modifications described above certainly will not make it any cheaper.

Knowing Rolex well, one would definitely be surprised to see this update. Rolex is usually sluggish and unhurried to alter and adjust new models, and they have completed several projects in the past year or two, for example, The Rolex Milgauss, The Anniversary Submariner, The new Yacht-Master 2, the Cellini, the new GMT Master 2, and now the Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA. Though new designs may not always appeal to one's taste, many would be delighted to see Rolex working hard to increasing the pace of the industry by constantly updating their classic styles.

Rolex Authorized Dealer

By: James Greene

The market sets the price on all merchandise including Rolex watches. As long as someone is willing to pay the asking price, there is no reason to reduce that price. The company sells every watch that they make and have a waiting list for some of their models of up to 2 years. The question might be: are they worth the price? Judging from the ones I have seen that are 50 to 60 years old and still running well, and are in good condition, my answer would be "yes".

Where should you buy your watch? Most watches are purchased from an Authorized dealer within the USA. Some Non-authorized jewelers will also sell you a new watch. However, you should be aware that the company frowns heavily on this practice and will likely not honor any warranty on these watches even though they are 100% genuine. If you purchase your Rolex outside the USA, you are permitted to hand-carry one watch back into the country. Bringing more than one is considered a Trademark violation and all watches will be taken by US customs. You should always check with US customs before bringing any watch into the USA from overseas. Purchasing a Rolex by mail from overseas is also a trademark violation.

Many consumers are turning to eBay to purchase their high end watches. Thousands of Rolex watches are sold on eBay every year, probably tens of thousands. However, if you're considering going this route you should take every precaution that you can and that is still no guarantee that you'll get what you pay for. eBay does a very poor job of policing the site for counterfeits. They say that it's not their job to verify every auction, and I think they could be right. The seller should provide you with the full serial number, model number, and any paper work that's available. You should see close-up pictures of the exact watch that is being sold, including close-ups of the serial number and model number that are engraved between the lugs at the 6:00 and the 12:00 position. Once you have all this information, take it to someone who is an expert in identifying the genuine product.

The only true way to determine if the watch is genuine is to take it to an authorized technician, and have him remove the case back and do a thorough examination of the movement and the bracelet. This can be time consuming and costly but is the only sure way.

Pricing is reasonably firm at all authorized dealers. The company puts a suggested retail price on every watch. This price is usually found on the tag along with the serial number of the watch. Most authorized dealers will give you a small discount on their watches although Rolex frowns on this practice also. Contrary to popular belief they do not put a 300% markup on their watches. Not even close. I won't reveal the exact markup, but suffice it to say that the actual markup does not allow for much discount at all and still leave a profit for the dealer.

After wearing your watch for a few years you might notice that it is gaining or losing time. This might indicate that it needs servicing. If it's only off a few seconds a day this should not be a major concern. However, if you notice that it is losing several minutes in a 24 hour period then it will need to be serviced. There are two schools of thought on when a Rolex should be serviced if it is running properly. Many collectors say every 2 to 3 years. Rolex says every 5 years. My personal thoughts are 6 to 7 years assuming that the watch has been running continuously since it was new. By that I mean that if over the years the watch was allowed to go un-worn for months at a time, without running, and then worn for a few months, and then un-worn once again. Wearing the watch in this manner can cause more problems than wearing it all the time.

Quoting From Rolex:

Quality, style, respect for a great watchmaking tradition… there is no shortage of reasons for wearing a Rolex; indeed, a Rolex watch would not be such a unique and coveted object of desire were it not the product of exceptional craftsmanship. What makes a Rolex so distinctive is the alliance of technology coupled with a unique philosophy. Pioneering spirit and the pursuit of perfection, qualities first embodied by the founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf, continue to the present day, and those personalities who represent the Rolex name in advertising are testimony to this Watchmaking perfection and an abiding philosophy… these are the reasons why you wear more than just a watch when you wear a Rolex.

Rado Diamond Watch

By: Robin Cassidy

The Rado V10K can claim to be the world's hardest watch - only a genuine diamond can scratch its casing. However, the world's hardest watch doesn't come cheap but has Rado been able to successfully marry hardness with practicality and pleasing design lines?

Rado is a Swiss company and has been making watches since 1917. Rado produced the world's first scratchproof watch in the 1960s. The watch was called the Rado DiaStar. Rado wanted to make the world's hardest watch, so it went into collaboration with specialists in nanotechnology to perfect the use of coating the watch casing with crushed diamond. After some years of research, Rado perfected a way to coat a homogenous 100% diamond layer onto hard metal components. Soon after, the Rado V10K was released.

Right from its introduction it would be fair to say that this watch has become a 'must have' for certain watch collectors.

Not all the components of the V10K are scratchproof. However, the connecting pieces between sapphire crystal and bracelet, as well as the lateral elements, are protected with diamond hardness against scratching. The 'scratchable' parts are the rubber strap, titanium case back and the strap clasp - also of titanium.

The look of the watch is understated, to say the least, and its design won't appeal to everyone. Someone once remarked that the design of the Rado V10K watch was like that of the first LED watches produced in the 1970s! Whilst, I disagree, I kind of know what they meant; it's simple, understated design and sleek black casing does have a slight 'retro' look to it. The watch face is pure simplicity; black with the Rado log and two white arms. There are no numerals or any further decoration of any kind. The functional rubber strap and clasp complement the overall, almost utilitarian, feel to the Rado V10K watch.

Another aspect that is unusual about the V10K by Rado is the absence of a crown. Rado omitted a crown purely out of design aesthetics. If you do need to change the time - there's no date function of this watch - you have to do so by means of a magnetic contact element that is contained in the strap. Whilst, I appreciate why Rado wanted to avoid putting a crown on the casing of the V10K, it is a little bit more problematic changing the time on this watch than it is on others; a frequent traveler would not find this the most practical of watches.

The V10K is also water resistant and comes with a two year guarantee.

The Rado V10K watch isn't going to appeal to the mass market. Its styling can seem so understated as to be absent altogether. But the V10K wasn't designed for the mass market; rather it was designed for those who appreciate that they possess something that is unique, as well as a timepiece that is a part of watch making history.

Rado Swiss Watches

By: Robin Cassidy

Rado watches are quite simply, unique. The company has an obsession in making fine watches from the most sophisticated and technically advanced of man-made of materials. Reading a little bit about how these watches are made is like reading a piece of sci-fi literature. One can't quite believe that such incredible, ground-breaking science is used to make something that merely tells us the time.

Rado is a comparative new-comer in Swiss watch making. It didn't begin making watches until 1917 - most top Swiss watch manufacturers were already making watches for over a hundred years - and, it didn't really become a well-known manufacturer until the 1960s when it produced the Rado DiaStar, the World's first scratchproof watch.

It would be true to say that other manufacturers specialized in making ever more complicated movements - Patek Philippe watches for example - or found niches in diving or the aeronautic industry - like Rolex, Panerai and Breitling - but Rado has mainly specialized in making its watches indestructible.

That's not to say that the movements in Rado watches are inferior, quite the opposite. Each movement, whether it's quartz, mechanical or chronograph comes with a guarantee of having a Swiss quality watch movement, which has been extensively tested at the Rado factory.

But, without doubt it's the materials used in Rado watches that makes them unique. You'll find materials that are used by other watch manufacturers, like sapphire crystal for the glass, titanium used on case backs and clasps, and rubber straps. However, it's the developments and use of new materials like ceramics, hard metals and high-tech diamond coatings that's totally different.

Many Rado watches are coated with a layer of synthetic diamond to make them almost scratchproof. This is achieved by transforming carbon into nano-crystalline diamond particles, which are amalgamated onto the hard metal watch case forming a homogenous diamond layer. The synthetic diamond is created in furnaces that approach the atmospheric pressure of Jupiter.

Likewise, the ceramics produced are also very scratch resistant while also being very skin-friendly. The manufacture of the hard metal used in the watches is also a complex process; tungsten- or titanium-carbide is pressed at 1000 bar and further compressed in a super hot furnace at 1450°C.

Using advanced manufacturing techniques to make new, hard materials is all well and good, but what makes Rado watches so desirable is how these materials are used to create simple, almost stark designs of wrist watch.

The Rado V10k watch exemplifies the unity of high-tech materials and modern design. The watch features a curved sapphire crystal; the case is high-tech synthetic diamond that blends seamlessly with the black caoutchouc strap. The dial is a simple as you can find on any watch; two white arms - hour and minute - and nothing else. You won't even find a crown on the case - you set the time by use of a magnetic pin that is housed in the strap.

The Ceramica is another fine collection - my personal favorite. The case and strap links are made from high-gloss, scratch resistant ceramics, the glass is sapphire crystal and the clasp has a hidden push button deployment. Again the dial is simple, two simple, white hands, and unusual hour markers that run vertically down each side of the face.

Other Rado collections include the Sintra, Ovation, Anatom, Original, Cerix, and Esenza. Each collection offers something slightly different though each uses high-tech, hard materials.

There are a couple of points to be aware of with Rado watches. First, although there are often referred to as scratchproof, they can be scratched. Other materials that are in everyday use also approach diamond hardness; such as sandpaper, grindstones, granite surfaces and even concrete walls. Also, dropping the watch onto a hard surface can break them.

All watches are given a 30 meter water resistance certificate, however many household situations can mean water being applied that is close to the pressure of 30 meters, like power showers and Jacuzzis, so you should always first remove the watch. And, when changing the battery you should only use an authorized dealer to ensure the watch remains water-tight.

Rado watches aren't to everyone's liking. The designs are simple and can look distinctively retro at times. However, for those who appreciate the unique qualities of the materials used these watch are, and always have been, highly desirable.

Rado Ceramic Watch

By: Vivian Lau

Key Word: the first watch that introduced high-tech ceramic into watch-making industry
Design feature: fusing wristwatch and bracelet into one
Material: high-tech ceramic

Rado began to develop materials that are suitable for watch-making in 1980s. They focused on high-tech ceramic which was only applied in aerospace technology and high-end medical appliance. This material, light, wear-proof, high temperature resistant, and anti-skin-allergy, is a perfection solution as a watch material. In 1982, Rado intergral was born. Intergal fuses wristwatch and bracelet into one and comes with high-tech bracelet connected by iconic I stainless steel chain. Integral is born with unparalleled elegance and comfort.

And here comes the Intergral Jubile which is a bold and avant-garde expression of Rota Integral and also one of my favorite model in this line . Inergral Jubile keeps soft and smooth shape like a bracelet and provides the iconic flexibility and comfort. The curving case keeps shape of simple lines while the edges are added with two rows of exquisite diamonds, bringing a kind of subtle elegance and charm.

The dial has a sapphire crystal cover with black metal coated. This dial, here, transforms into a nice screen, open and straight. It comes with silver hour, minute and second hands. Two rows of three diamonds marks 2, 3, 4, 8 , 9 and 10 o'clock in a symmetrical manner , very and impressive. Another model with mirror face is also available, demonstrating flowing operation.

Seiko Kinetic Mens Watches

By: Edward Price

Watches in general have the primary function of telling time and that's why most people buy whatever watch they can find that looks good for their style while others care about added features and durability, which of course, are more expensive. However, divers have special needs and they need a watch that can help keep track of the time elapsed during underwater sessions so they can resurface without problems. A Seiko divers watch could be an excellent choice since they are widely known for the style and overall quality of their watches.

But is choosing a Seiko divers watch instead of other dive watches coming from competing brands really the right choice? There is no doubt that there are a large number of scuba watches on the market today and they come off boasting with interesting features. Here's an in-depth look of these Seiko dive watches that will answer why these Seiko dive watches really stand out.

Style

Seiko is very well known for choosing materials that give any dive watch that elegant look and added durability at the same time. Most of the Seiko dive watches come complete with a stainless-steel casing and have that Japanese style finish to it. Many of the Seiko scuba watches are made of scratch resistant Hardlex crystal so they remain to look new as the years go by.

Some of the watches come with the ordinary black rubber strap while a few others can be really sophisticated like the Seiko Men's Automatic Dive Black Urethane Strap Watch which has a unique strap that is pressure vented. Others even have a steel bracelet that makes the dive watch double as an ordinary watch that is great of every day wearing.

Features

Seiko dive watches must be legible underwater for them to be effective for deep diving. In addition to their easy to read unidirectional bezels, Seiko scuba watches also have luminous hands for better visibility of the time underwater. Although none of the Seiko watches are digital, some are still capable of displaying the date. Certain watches also have an inner rotating compass dial ring which divers can make use of.

Technology

A Seiko divers watch is best known for its 21 jewel automatic self-winding Seiko movement. The Seiko 5 series bumped it up to 23 jewels, but what keeps Seiko ahead in terms of technology with their Seiko scuba watches is their Kinetic technology. Kinetic technology is another self-winding technology that doesn't require any turning of the crown at all. Instead, it automatically wounds as long as the arm or wrist moves. In the later models, the same Kinetic technology is now used to power the rechargeable batteries. This will keep the time accurate for up to 4 years when fully charged making this a huge achievement for Seiko.

Since producing their first timepiece in 1924, the name Seiko has been synonymous with fine craftsmanship, and Seiko watches are known worldwide for their superb design, elite performance, and legacy of style.

Originally founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori, a watch and jewelry shop owner from the Ginza area of Tokyo, the company first began producing wallclocks in 1892 under the name Seikosha: Seiko is Japanese for “success”, “minature” or “exquisite” and Sha means “house”. Over the next few decades, Seikosha grew and began producing pocket watches and wristwatches, and in 1913 debuted the Laurel, the first timepiece ever produced in Japan. The first watches to be produced under the name Seiko began appearing in 1924, and in 1964, Seiko watches made history again by producing the world’s first quartz watch. Export of Seiko watches went from 1.6 million in1965 to 11.8 million in 1977. The quartz watch phenomenon allowed Seiko to expand rapidly. Production reached about 21 million in 2001. The company became recognized as the leader in timekeeping accuracy, and Seiko products were often used to time major sporting events including The World Cup, and the Olympic Games.

Since their early beginnings as the one of the world’s premiere watchmakers, Seiko has set many precedents, including sponsoring Japan’s first TV commercial in 1953, serving as the Official Timer of 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games and producing the first TV watch in 1982, to name a few.

Seiko is also known for using state-of-the-art technology. From the early days in the Seiko history, Kintaro recognized the importance of having in-house parts and movement production in order to stay ahead of competitions. With the building of its first balance wheel in 1910 and the first dial in 1913, Seiko has sinced developed a unique line of quartz and mechanical watches including the Seiko automatic Chronometer series, the Bell-Matic, with a mechanical alarm, the luxury Credo, King Seiko, and the Grand Seiko lines. Seiko’s Kinetic watches account for the majority of the company’s watch sales because it combines the self-energizing attribute of an automatic watch with quartz accuracy, and recharges itself entirely by the energy and movement of the wearer. By now Seiko has 6 separate Kinetic movements including the Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay. It has a power saving feature whereby it hibernates when not used and wakes up again up to 4 years later to the correct time. The latest technological advancement from Seiko is the Seiko Spring Drive introduced in 1999. Spring Drive is a mechanical watch with the accuracy of a quartz watch. The mainspring in the Spring Drive powers a rotor whose electrical output induces a quartz crystal to emit a reference signal which regulates the speed at which the mainspring unwinds. It has a power reserve of 72 hours, one of the longest amongst all mechanical watches.

With innovation at the core of its company, Seiko is bounded to be at the forefront of new watch technology.

Seiko Quartz Watches

By: Sean O'rourke

They sound like characters from an action video game - Orange Monster, Black Samurai, White Knight - but in fact, they're three of the hippest watches made by Seiko and are much sought-after by wealthy enthusiasts and collectors, particularly in Asia.

This may come as a surprise, but Seiko watches are gaining an image as hip and collectable. In many parts of the world, the Seiko watch brand has been seen as reliable, but unremarkable. But look closely and an exceptional story begins to emerge.

Seiko burst onto the international watchmaking scene in 1969, when it caught off-guard and almost destroyed the Swiss watch industry with the launch of the Astron, the world's first battery-powered quartz wristwatch. The Astron was more accurate and durable than the hand-wound mechanical Swiss watches costing several times as much. Overnight, demand for mechanical watches plummeted.

Many watchmaking innovations over the past three decades are probably due to Seiko: the first quartz watch; first quartz LCD with six-digit display (hours, minutes and seconds); first calculator watch; first quartz with day and date; first quartz chronograph (date, stopwatch and alarm); first TV watch; first thermic quartz watch (powered by the wearer's body heat); first kinetic quartz watch (powered by the wearer's movement)... and the list goes on. Seiko watches have been at the center of watch evolution, and its influence extends far beyond watchmaking: the LCDs in your clock radio, microwave oven or CD player all owe a debt to innovations made by Seiko.

Seiko, in fact, has been the innovator of so many industry "firsts" that it's difficult to name them all. Recently, for example, was the 40th anniversary of the first quartz chronometer, launched at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Used to time marathons, it brought unprecedented precision to sports timekeeping, being accurate to within 0.2 seconds a day. Just a few years ago saw the 10th anniversary of the world's first kinetic chronograph, the quartz watch powered by the movement of the wearer's wrist, thereby eliminating the need for a battery. To celebrate the event, Seiko launched the Arctura Kinetic Chronograph, which takes kinetic movements to a new level of precision, being accurate to within 15 seconds per month.

While innovation and continuity rarely go together, Seiko has both. The company, founded in Tokyo by Kintaro Hattori in 1881, is still a family business. Although part of the business is a publicly traded company, the current president of Seiko Watch Corporation is the founder's great-grandson, Shinji Hattori, who is also the nephew of the current honorable chairman.

Given Seiko's history of producing revolutionary products and ideas that are emulated everywhere, you might expect that it would enjoy a reputation similar to that of Apple or Sony. Yet many people don't few even realize that Seiko is the world's leading manufacturer of watches, selling over 14 million watches annually. It also annually sells more than 350 million quartz movements to other watch makers. Here again, Seiko has revolutionized the watch making industry. Previously, only Swiss and Japanese companies could make reliable watches. But now anybody can simply add a dial, case and strap to a Seiko quartz movement and sell it under their own brand name. Although it doesn't want to name companies it provides movements to, Seiko's quartz movements are at the heart of many watches sold by some of the biggest name brands in fashion and sports.

Seiko doesn't really get the respect it deserves. The product quality is phenomenal, but there's a misperception of their brand.

Some people believe Seiko offers too many budget-price models. Cheap, in the public's mind, means poor quality even if that's not the case. Also, Seiko's watch designs change too often. Some of the best Seiko watch designs never get the chance to develop a following, whereas the best Rolex or Omega watches stay in production for 20 or 30 years. For collectors, it's a problem, and collectors add value to brands.

One Seiko executive recently stated the company is in the process of refining its brand. "We have very strong brand awareness, with around 70 per cent recognition of Seiko as a watchmaker. But there was some confusion about the brand. The company's pioneering history, our dedication to producing elegant watches, wasn't really understood. We're proud of the company, so we decided to streamline and focus the branding, and emphasize our legacy."

Until recently, regional Seiko companies sold the brand according to local tastes. But just recently the Japanese parent, Seiko Corporation, decided to overhaul its branding and marketing strategies. The company's position is that customer perception of the brand should be the same in Tokyo, London, Paris, New York or Sydney. That means building a brand image that conveys core values, no matter what the market. Over a period of several months Seiko has revamped its public profile, from billboard and TV advertising to in-store presentation and packaging.

So far, the strategy has been successful. In line with company expectations, Seiko is gradually being seen as a premium watch brand. Not just trustworthy and reliable, but a real status brand. Technological innovation is at the heart of company, but Seiko watches have a certain refinement that they're trying to emphasize also.

So, how might Seiko improve its brand status? Being the largest watch company, with an excellent line of products and constant innovation, perhaps Seiko could start by being a little less modest about their product.

Seiko watches bring the service quality of a century of work and dedication to the manufacturing of top watches to meet all kinds of requirements and expectations. We are talking about the first company to have created the quartz watch in the world but their contribution to the watch industry is much larger.Seiko watches are being sold for a variety of purposes from metallurgy and mechatronics to applications like camera components. Sports products, jewelry and eyeglasses also fall in the production domain of the Seiko brand name. But Seiko is known for their beautiful wristwatches. The sleek lines and clean looks of these watches inspire confidence and enhance your projected image. Which explains why these watches are so popular even today.

People fond of online shopping know that when it comes to purchasing a branded product, the best way to make sure you are buying the authentic item is to shop with an authorized retailer. Seiko watches are no exception to this rule, as it is the company's policy to designate and authorize sites to act as their representatives. You will recognize a Seiko representative by the emblem displayed on the retailer's home page. There are plenty of advantages in contacting only such official sites and both businesses and customers benefit from this arrangement.

By going online, you will have rapid access to the latest collections of Seiko watches. Then, you need not worry about the size and the way the watch fits since all pertinent details are indicated in the website to allow you to make the best possible choice. Seiko watches have after-sale services as well as a very advantageous warranty granted by the producer. All the pictures in the Seiko catalogs are accompanied by clear indications of the price, the model number, and design and dial color. Many online retailers offer you discounts but they never forget to mention the original price. This makes it easy for you to compare the original price with the discounted one and get a picture of how much you would be saving on an online purchase.

Seiko watches are typically made of stainless steel due to its high resistance properties, but combinations are possible too. Thus, the case and the band could be manufactured from two different types of steel, either brushed or polished. Then, water resistance depends on the model and it generally doesn't go beyond 100 meters, but you can check the item for indications on site. When ordering Seiko watches from an authorized online retailer you'll get three items in the package: the watch, the case and the three-year warranty.

Seiko is for people who love quality and value return for money over ostentatious looks and names. From the time Seiko came into the market in 1924 till date, the company has managed to stick to its established reputation for quality timepieces that suit every budget. Seiko's worldwide presence is a testimony to the love and regard consumers all over the world have for the product. Great looks and incredible technology make these watches a pleasure and pride to own. That explains why Seiko never had to fear any other brand taking over its market share.

Nothing says elegance and style more than a Seiko watch. For years Seiko Watches have been known for crafting some of the finest watches in different themes and styles. Seiko watches can be found dominating the headlines in print ads, television commercials and magazines. Although there are quite a few Seiko watch series to consider, the top two series for Seiko watches are undeniably the Seiko Coutura watches and Seiko Sportura series watches. Within these collections lies the best Seiko Watches has to offer.

The Seiko Coutura watches collection starts with an elegant base design and then goes from there. Some top models in the Seiko Coutura series display the traits of a great Seiko watch. The Seiko Men's Brown Dial Two-Tone Bracelet watch is a big seller featuring a stainless steel two-tone band, brown face and gold-tone accents and crown. Although visually a beautiful watch the SGEB76 also features sapphire crystal, which is most scratch-resistant for longevity, a date calendar and a water resistance of 100 meters. Another top watch from the Seiko Coutura series is the Seiko Men's Coutura Alarm Chronograph watch. The SNA694 is highlighted by a gold-tone band and casing, with a charcoal dial to give a wonderful look to this well-crafted timepiece. Three subdials are also featured on the display making this watch another best-seller.

Seiko Sportura series gets it's inspiration from the Honda Racing Formula One Team and this fact can be obviously seen in the design of these watches. The Seiko Sportura Chronograph Honda Racing Team Limited Edition watch has subdials on the display mirrored after race car gauges and a black and red rubber strap. A true sports watch, the SNA749 has a chronograph that can measure up to sixty minutes in increments of 1/5 seconds. But the best of the best is certainly the Seiko Sportura Kinetic Chronograph Limited Edition timepiece. This very special watch comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the CEO of Honda and Seiko and features the most precise of movements. Using Seiko's Kinetic technology the SLQ023 is powered by the movement of your wrist and never requires a battery. Only 750 of these watches have been crafted.

Take one look at SNA548 model from Seiko Watches and you will be taken aback with awe. This men's Seiko coutura alarm chronograph watch could be a perfect gift for a man this holiday season. Great watch at a great price and great value, it has it all you would ever expect from your watch. It's style, looks, feature, and functionalities will surely impress you. Seiko SNA548 is unarguably one of the Seiko's best-selling men's watches.

The Watch is an exceptional combination of gold and stainless steel. Looking at the bracelet, the dark two-tone stainless steel is a perfect beginning to this timepiece. Along with its gold-tone screws, the Seiko SNA548 gives a look of style and sophistication, not over the top or below the level of style that you would expect from Seiko watches. This Seiko coutura alarm chronograph gold-tone men's watch fits right in between at the perfect level of elegance and balance

The real beauty of this watch however, lies in the dial of the watch. A gray-brown dial provides a nice backdrop for the centerpiece of the Seiko coutura collection, and blends well with the two-tone bracelet. All these combined with three black sub dials, gold tone markers and hands make the Seiko SNA548 the watch that no one will be able to take their eyes off of. Just like most of other Seiko watches this watch features an easy to use deployment type clasp with push button where the clasp is opened by pulling the joined hands of the bracelet away from hands.

Aside from its gorgeous looks, this Seiko coutura watch proves there's more in terms of function and capability as well. The sub dials represent chronograph and alarm functions, with the alarm also having the ability to indicate time in a different time zone. The alarm can be set on a 12-hour basis. Seiko watches have also taken water resistance capabilities into consideration while designing the watch. The watch is water resistant up to 100 meters, which fits within the range of typical daily wear.

Rolex Mens Watch

The Rolex Submariner 16610 is currently the best selling men's watch from Rolex. This model has been around for decades where its design and make has proven to withstand the test of time. Like most Rolex watches, the Submariner 16610 sports a classical design, with stainless steel straps, a classical bezel and sapphire crystal dial windows.

My dad has one of these in his watch collection. He bought it 25 years ago and is still in top working condition today. As a model that has stayed the same in design for so many years, I was very impressed that the design remains fashionable today. After borrowing my dad's watch for a couple of years, I finally decided to buy one for myself.

Like all Submariner models, the 16610 model is water resistant to up to 300 feet, perfect for all diving fans. Rolex watches are famous for being durable. Not only will the work well after decades of use, but it will retain its pristine condition as well. Most guys, including myself are not good at maintaining watches in good condition (or anything else for that matter. My Rolex Submariner 16610 has been exposed to bumps, knocks and many falls since I bought it. Yet with a little polish and a good soap watch, it still looks very new.

The stainless till body and the synthetic sapphire crystal is indeed scratchproof as they claim. The Rolex Submariner 16610 is an automatic watch, running on kinetic energy. It is automatically powered by just wearing it. If the watch is not worn for a couple of days, you can manually wind it or 're-power' it by wearing it. Among all the luxury watches that I have purchased, the Submariner 16610 is by far my favorite, and the best $5000 bucks ever spent!

Rado Mens Watch

Rado watches have been placed among the top bracketed watches in the world. In 1917, the company was established in Switzerland. The original name of the company was" Schlup and co". The name "Rado" was used in 1957, when the very first collection of the watches was designed. And since then "RADO" became a matchless brand name.

Reputation of the company elevated with the winning of each award. But the one which linked this brand name to designer watches was "Good Designer Award" in 2002 in Chicago and the same award was won again in 2005 in Japan. Design of the watch being the main foundation of any brand, skyrocketed the popularity of Rado watches.

Rado watches was presented with countless awards for its innovative, creative and unique watch designs. The outstanding quality of the watches has been the main reason for having a distinguished place in the market. Rado has produced a variety of watches including integral, ceramica, Sintra, original and true. Each watch has its own individuality, style and look. The range and designs of Rado watches increase with each passing year.

The company punch line is extremely strong and sounds very influential. This mission statement states that Rado actually thinks before making such splendid watches. The company uses new-fangled and imminent ideas to give the consumers something novel and inimitable. The punch line reads, "If we can imagine it, we will". This line is the foundation of the realistic hopes, which the company plans to turn into reality. A plan which it has achieved very well.

Whether they are professional scuba divers or they just enjoy going diving every now and then, they should have a dive watch. Mens Watch

By: Michelle Bery

When it comes to choosing the perfect watch – for you or someone you love – it can be difficult to narrow down the choices from all the available styles on the market. For women, who have already chosen several pieces of jewelry throughout their lives, choosing a watch may be easier for them than their male counterparts. Choosing a men's watch can be a bit more of a challenge.
For many men, aside from their wedding ring, a watch may be the only piece of jewelry that they wear. And while the watch can be worn for functional reasons, it can also fill a role as a stylish accessory - even for men. Finding the perfect men's watch is about balancing these two functions in a way that's comfortable for the man wearing the watch.

For an athletic man who enjoys both indoor and outdoor sports, a men's watch that is streamlined, compact, and sporty may be the best choice. A men's watch of this variety may also include accessories beneficial for athletes - such as a stopwatch capacity, and heart rate monitor.
For a career man who is in the public eye, a luxury men's watch that has glitz as well as functionality could be an appropriate selection. This particular men's watch can be a bit of an investment; but more often than not, its quality workmanship would match the price. This could be a classic timepiece that he can enjoy for many, many years.

The more casual man may prefer a trendier men's watch that depicts the latest styles and compliments a variety of looks. Many younger men gravitate towards the hottest men's watch on the market at the time, and while it can make quite a splash now, it may not be something he's interested in wearing as he gets older.

For those men who enjoy the value of a great antique, an antique men's watch could be something he will cherish. Or perhaps an older family member has a men's watch that can be cleaned and polished for a bright new future.

Ultimately, the best men's watch is the watch that its owner feels comfortable and confident wearing for many years!

Mens Watches

Summarize Article by: Patrick C Bedford

Men have always enjoyed making a statement of their success by sporting a luxury timepiece, but until recently, their choice of watches has been somewhat limited to elegant link styles, sporty diver's watches, and those 80's-style digital watches. While higher-end luxury watches remain out of reach for most middle-class men, a large selection of mid-priced luxury watches are now available. These new watches are more fashionable and are available in a variety of colors and textures not normally worn by men. Why the sudden influx of fashion in men's watches, you might ask? With the sale of high-end luxury watches slipping over the past year, leading watch makers have jumped on this fashion trend, and many have recently unveiled new lines of mid-priced fashionable watches for men. One of these new watches, which is quickly becoming a trend among New York's power elite, is the Movado Museum Watch, particularly the one with the white strap, stainless steel case and black museum dial. It has the signature style of classic Movado watches, but with a certain élan and simplistic cache that is rarely seen in men's watches.

Another, more sporty example of this new breed of watches is the Sector 600. With a corrugated polyurethane strap, Swiss movement, a titanium case, and water-resistance up to 200 meters, these watches are designed for active men with a sense of style. Available in eight edgy styles, the sapphire blue or the orange strapped watches are by far the most rakish of this collection.

For the vintage watch lover with a whimsical side, check out the latest creation of Jacques Lemans Men's Classic Collection. With its 18 karat gold, oversized round case, textured black dial, and Roman numerals against gold tone Breguet-style hands, this most classic of watches has a retro-modern style all its own. Watches like this one capture an elegance of early watch making tradition and have a timeless appeal, but they are not just for the literary set; the dial is virtually scratch-proof sapphire glass, and is surrounded by a bezel of gold-plated fluting.
